Fresh Orange Juice and Ginger in a Vitamix

I love fresh orange juice, but I don't always have time in the morning to pull out my juicer and make fresh juice. Plus the clean up is a bit longer when using a juicer than when making juice in a Vitamix. Furtermore, I get a bit more fiber when juicing with a bleder vs a juicer, because the blender retains some of the pulp from the oranges.
Here is a simple 2 ingredient recipe. You don't have to use ginger. However, I love using ginger for all the added nutrients I get from it and to support my overall health. Combining a tiny piece of ginger in your orange juice really takes your taste buds to a different - WOW - level!
This is so easy to make and nutritionally dense - loaded with vitamin C from the oranges and antibacterial power from the ginger. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Equipment

  • 1 Vitamix Blender Or any high powered blender

Ingredients

  • 1 dozen oranges
  • 1 inch ginger root Use more if you like the taste of ginger

Instructions

  • Peal skin off oranges, it's ok to leave the white membrane on
  • Wash but no need to peel the skin of ginger
  • To a blender add your peeled oranges and ginger. Blend on high speed for 60 seconds
  • Strain through a cheese cloth or a nut bag or any strainer you have at home (you might get extra pulp, if your strainer is not fine, which I like)
  • Enjoy straight away. Store the rest in reusable bottles with lids in the fridge. Will last 3 to 5 days.
    Tastes best freshly juiced
